Emmet Chapter Minutes

The December meeting of the Emmet County Green Party was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at 7:00 at Horizon Books in Petoskey. Eleven people were present.

Protests - Discussion was held regarding the upcoming antiwar protest in Washington DC on January 18. Several members present are attending. There will be a meeting to discuss a possible local protest to coincide with this on January 2 at 7:00 upstairs at Horizon Books.

Nurses strike - A letter from the ECGP/UNGP was sent to and published by the Petoskey News Review and Northern Express. An upcoming community meeting regarding the strike will be posted.

Bylaws - Lengthy discussion was held again regarding the ECGP bylaws. Discussion centered around defining a quorum, what determines membership, and concensus. Steve Brede will redo the Bylaws and distribute to those present at this meeting for approval or further discussion at the next meeting.

Website - Bob Hamil is the new web master for the UNGP and is looking for content for that site. Discussion was held regarding an ECGP web site and it is not felt that this is necessary right now, however we will post information on the UNGP web site. It was felt that there needed to be two separate lists for the ECGP and the UNGP. Mike Sullivan will get with Bob Hamil regarding the web site and lists.

The next meeting of the ECGP will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. at Horizon Books in Petoskey.
