Emmet Chapter Minutes

The Emmet County Green Party met on Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. at Horizon Books in Petoskey. Five members were present.

Upcoming Events: Discussion was held about the following upcoming events. Nurse's Community Rally - Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Petoskey. James Hoffa and other labor supporters will be speaking.

Joint peace rally with Traverse City on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a march followed by a pot luck lunch.

Honoring the Planet, sponsored by the Another Way Peace Coalition. Wednesday, April 23, 3003 at 7:00 p.m. at North Central Michigan College. Speakers will be author Stephanie Mills, and Veronica Medicine, tribal elder.

Ralph Nader recently spoke at Northern Michigan University. Jim and Sue Adams son attended and they will get us some info on his speech.

Candidates: Discussion was held about hopefully fielding candidates in upcoming elections. Members are to investigate positions available in their township, city, county, etc and share the information regarding offices, terms and election dates.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, 7:00 p.m. at Horizon Books in Petoskey.
