Local peace activists observed International Women’s Day, Saturday, March 8, by forming a human peace sign in Bayfront Park in Petoskey.

Vietnam War Marine Veteran Dale Richardson & Gulf War Marine Veteran Sonny Baker told of the realities of war, with Robert Downes, Editor of Northern Express, giving his thoughts on why only George Bush wants this war. Visions of Peace Drum & Dance Group, Guitarist-singers Teague Whalen & Rick Miesterhiem, "Bards for Peace" poet Bob Vance provided thoughts and entertainment. These indoor events were followed by a short march through town.
